"Our Banner"
Designed and executed by Ruth Barnes, Sue Wilde, Rae Eddy, Anne Voilleque, and Annelies Kull. Photography by Arthur Kull.
A patchwork of mixed media represents Idaho's mountains, streams, and fields that comprise the Snake River plain, the home of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Idaho Falls. A stitched gold chalice and flame overlays the patchwork, and is surrounded by the Circles of Unitarianism and Universalism - left open that all may enter the Circle of Fellowship.

A native American creation myth tells us that the earth was formed
from mud on the back of a turtle. The turtle is supported on a other
turtle, and he on another, representing a leap of faith about the
creation. The mobius strip represents on-going and renewing energy.
The light at the center represents the Spirit from within people who
must work together to save the earth.

Deep grief after the unwarranted assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy inspired this brilliant memorial to freedom, civil rights, honesty, and justice in the United States of America.

At the critical juncture between the suppport of a professional ministry through the gracious grant of Miles Willard and financial independence of the Fellowship, we wanted to illustrate our dream: "The tree of life of the Fellowship, nourished by a rich history and supported by a growing community."
