August Forum

During the month of August, we will meet in the downstairs fellowship hall where it is cooler, and the services will be less structured and feature a topic for open discussion. Please note that children’s Religious Exploration will resume in September, but they are welcome to join us in the fellowship hall this month.

The philosopher Donald A. Crosby wrote, “Religious naturalism, as I and many others interpret it, has no belief in or devotion to God, Goddess, gods, or goddesses. For it, nature in some shape or form is all that there is, ever has been, or ever will be … There is no avowed supernatural basis for help in time of need, for transformation of life, or for coping with the threats and exigencies of finite existence.” Our question for discussion this week is: Do you think Nature is enough as the foundation of a meaningful theology?
